AI-EAT

Gnam is a robotic tool that seeks to promote the autonomy of elderly and/or dependent people by providing a method so that they can feed themselves without the need for an assistant.

Goal

Improve support for the autonomy of people with dependency by providing a method so that they can eat on their own without the need for an assistant.

What does it consist of

AI EAT is a commercial feeding support robot that the Institute of Industrial Robotics of the UPC-CSIC, in collaboration with the PSPV, is adding features to respond to the needs of older people during the feeding process.

Development phases

  1. Identification of existing evidence.
  2. Co-creation with healthcare professionals to identify the needs of a feeding robot.
  3. Development of robot prototypes.
  4. Piloting and validation with end users.
  5. Implementation in healthcare and community environments.
  6. Evaluación de efectividad y seguridad.

Actual state

Pilot start in September 2022.
